Report on the northwest side of the building (Law Enforcement Center).
Pick up the phone in the entrance of the lobby and notify jail staff that you are reporting for jail.
What items may an inmate have while in custody?

Inmates are provided books, hygiene items, writing materials, uniforms and footwear while in custody.

Inmates may purchase postage paid envelopes, snacks, and other necessities through canteen with their own funds.

Inmates may possess no more than 3 photographs (no Polaroid photos). The photographic images must be appropriate in nature.

Please use the post office for delivery of all letters and photos. We will not accept notes, letters, cards or photos unless they arrive through the post office.
Do I have a warrant in any other county?
Contact the county that may have issued the warrant.
How do I post bail?

In many cases, an inmate may post either cash bail or a bond.

Cash bail is accepted for Pine County charges at the Court Administration office Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with the exception of holidays.

Cash bail in the exact amount will be accepted at the jail lobby after 4:30 p.m. and on weekends and holidays for Pine County charges.

Cash bail for out-of-county warrants will be accepted only at the jail. Pine County Court Administration does not receive out of county bail payment.
Can I leave a message for an inmate?
If you wish to leave a message for an inmate, please contact the inmate message line at (320) 322-1014.
You will need the first three letters of the inmates’ last name, leave your name, the inmates name and call back number.

If mailing money, it is highly recommended that you obtain a money order. Make it payable to the inmate at the above address. The jail will not be responsible for cash mailed to inmates.
You may also visit the Pine County Sheriff's Office at 635 Northridge Drive NW, Pine City. In the lobby is a box with envelopes for submitting cash (currency only, no coins). These funds may not be immediately available to the inmate but usually are the next day.

How can I get fingerprints for employment purposes?
The Pine County Jail offers fingerprinting services for licensing and other non-criminal purposes at:

All fingerprinting is done by appointment, call 320-591-1448 or 320-591-1439. Appointments are scheduled Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.
For safety we ask that everyone to be printed wear a mask. Fingerprinting staff will be masked as well.
You will need to bring:
~ $20 in exact cash for two fingerprint cards
~ Current photo ID
We have print cards FD-258 available; if your agency requires a different form you will need to provide it. Extra cards are $1 each.
What time of day do inmates get released?
The majority of sentenced inmates get released from the Pine County Jail at approximately 9 a.m. on the last day of their sentence. There are exceptions so you should stay in contact with the inmate near the end of their sentence.
What day or time is an inmate going to court?
The Court Administrator determines court appearances; the jail does not. The court notifies the jail when it is ready for an inmate to appear.

When available, public visits are conducted through video visitation and are limited to 20 minutes:

A valid driver’s license or state issued photo I.D. is required for all visitors.

Visitation is allowed ONLY during the specified times.

Visitors must be 18 or older. People under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and be supervised at all times.

All visitors are subject to a warrant check.

All visits are subject to monitoring and recording.

No cellphones, food, beverage or personal items are allowed in the visiting area.

Any visitor under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be denied a visit and asked to leave.
