Investigations Unit

The Investigative Unit is responsible for the investigation of crimes and preparation of cases for criminal prosecution.  The Investigators handle all criminal investigations for Pine County and all municipalities throughout the county.  The investigators routinely attend advanced training in the following areas:

  • Arson
  • Assault
  • Computer and Cell phone forensics
  • Family Violence
  • Financial Crimes
  • Homicide
  • Juvenile Crimes
  • Narcotics
  • Robbery
  • Sex Crimes
  • Vulnerable Adult


The investigator develops and/or follows up on leads, evidence, and interviews witnesses and suspects.  Photo line-ups, search warrants, subpoenas and confidential informants are among the tools an investigator may use to compile a case for presentation to the County Attorney for possible charges.

The Investigators strive to protect the innocent and serve those who have been victimized.
