During the summer of 2017 Pine County operated a small recycling and solid waste transfer station in Willow River as a pilot project. The station was open Wednesdays and Saturdays and collected household garbage and trash, construction and demolition debris, used electronics, fluorescent bulbs, scrap metal, and rechargeable batteries. The five month pilot project was deemed a success!
Thank you to all of the residents that participated at the Willow River transfer station. Pine County is in pursuit for a larger long term site in the Willow River area and hopes to re-open in spring 2018. Stay tuned!
The Recycle Sheds at this location are still open 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.Willow River Transfer Station Pilot Project Results
