Absentee Voting for School/City/Township Elections

Auditor-Treasurer

**This information is only valid for standalone school district and city/township elections.   For state and federal elections, please see this page.

You can vote early by using an absentee ballot (no excuse required), instead of voting in person at the polling place on Election Day.  Absentee ballots are available 46 days before an election.

There are several ways to vote absentee early:

In person
You may vote in person beginning 46 days before the election at the School District office if the election is a standalone school district election.  For standalone city or township elections, unless the city or township has regular business hours, you will need to contact the clerk of the jurisdiction (Clerk contact information for cities can be found here and for townships can be found here).  Additionally, each city or township (even without regular business hours) must be open the Saturday before the election from 10:00am-3:00pm and until 5PM on the Monday before the election for standalone city and township elections.

Through the mail:
By filling out an  Absentee Ballot Application and returning it to the election administrator.  The election administrator for these standalone elections is the city or town clerk or for standalone school district elections:
