Welcome to Pine County, MN

Beginning January 1, 2017 Pine County began collecting a .5% transit sales and use tax to be used for the local transportation infrastructure. This tax is authorized under Minnesota State Statute §297A.993 Subdivision 1. The proceeds from the tax can only be used on a specific listing of projects adopted by the county board. The tax is collected by the Minnesota Department of Revenue and disbursed to the County monthly.

On August 17, 2021 the Pine County Board of Commissioners repealed the previous transit sales and use tax and replaced it with a new .5% transit sales and use tax and project listing effective January 1, 2022.
