We offer both full-time and part-time positions. All training is paid. New employees must complete approximately 120 hours of initial classroom and field training. Subsequent annual requirement is a minimum of 40 hours of training.
Training includes Interpersonal Communication Skills, Cross Gender Supervision, Direct Supervision, First Aid/CPR, Report Writing, Use of Force, (i.e., Pressure Point control tactics, TASER, Chemical, Remotely Activated Custody Control Belt), on-the-job training (job shadow), Emergency Policy and Procedures, Suicide Prevention and other related training.
All shifts include every other weekend off- Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Part-time schedules are flexible, ensuring that all stations are covered.* Full-time shifts are regularly scheduled as follows:
1st shift 06:00-18:00 (12 hrs.)
2nd shift 18:00-06:00 (12 hrs.)
*Schedules may vary due to emergency situations, sick calls and the general needs of the jail.
