Jail Medical Unit
The Pine County Jail provides 24/7 medical services, with on-site medical staff available from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. and on-call services during off-hours.
Inmate healthcare services are administered in our on-site medical clinic, which is equipped to care for a variety of patient needs.
Upon arrival to the jail, patients are asked about their medical, dental, and mental health needs. If health problems arise while incarcerated, patients are instructed to utilize the jail's sick-call system. A Registered Nurse triages all intake medical questionnaires and inmate sick-calls and addresses them.
The Pine County Jail has a licensed physician that rounds weekly and examines patients when merited. If specialty care is needed, medical staff will arrange appointments and transport.
The Pine County Jail provides mental health services via telehealth for both treatment and management of acute and long-term mental health needs.
Patients are charged co-pays for all medications, treatment of chronic illnesses, and for new problems that arise while incarcerated. Patients are also able to purchase over the counter medications during medication passes.
